HOW WE CHECK A STORY.
Our aim is to help readers understand what has been announced, what is an interpretation, and what remains unknown.
Sources and claims
Use original announcements and direct evidence wherever possible. Link to the source that supports the claim. Identify reporting from another publication and give it credit. Do not present a retailer placeholder, rumour, fan theory, or inference as an official announcement.
Useful, original coverage
Each story should answer a reader’s question and add explanation or reporting. Avoid copied announcements, invented quotations, unsupported exclusives, misleading headlines, and pages created solely to repeat a keyword.
Human review and AI assistance
AI can assist preparation, but it cannot serve as a source. Before publication, a responsible human editor must check factual claims against the cited evidence, read the complete article, inspect its images, and approve it. AI-assisted material should be disclosed appropriately.
Dates that mean something
The publication date is the original publication time. Change the updated date when the article changes meaningfully. A routine source check has a separate date and does not make an old story new.
Commercial relationships
Disclose sponsorship and affiliate relationships next to the relevant content if introduced. The site currently has no ads or affiliate links.
Corrections
Correct material errors promptly and explain significant changes on the affected article. Preserve a clear distinction between a new development and a correction to previous reporting.
