GTA 6’s Standard Edition is listed at US$79.99. Ultimate is US$99.99. Those are the prices shown by the U.S. PlayStation and Xbox stores at our October 8, 2026 check, before applicable tax. The game’s standard price is not $200. Check PlayStation · Check Xbox.
“A hundred dollars” is a reasonable rounded description of Ultimate, but it hides the cheaper edition. “Two hundred dollars” does not describe either listed edition. Always ask which product a price belongs to: the game, an add-on, merchandise, or a retailer’s bundle.

These are listed Ultimate Edition bonuses. They are not a list of every vehicle in the base game.
Ultimate includes premium vehicles, weapons, customization, destinations and activities. The official listing names the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the PTT Youngin$ Compound and the Classic Car Collection, among other bonuses. It also describes some businesses as exclusive to Ultimate. These are concrete differences worth inspecting, rather than assuming the upgrade is only cosmetic. Ultimate contents.
The separate upgrade is listed at US$20 on Xbox and requires GTA VI. It is not a $20 copy of the game. At the prices checked, $79.99 + $20.00 = $99.99. There is no price saving in that arithmetic; its advantage is the ability to decide about extras separately. Future prices or discounts could change the comparison.

For a reader buying only Standard, the starting figure is $79.99 before applicable tax. Choosing Ultimate adds $20 at the checked prices. Adding a collector’s box changes the shopping list substantially: Standard plus the $399.99 box is $479.98, before tax and shipping. That does not turn GTA VI’s Standard Edition into a $479.98 game.

The collector’s box and the physical game are different products
Rockstar’s The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is listed at US$399.99 in the checked store. It is a merchandise collection, with items including a Macca the Gator figure, sunglasses, a bag and a souvenir poster. The listing explicitly says the game is sold separately and that the item is not eligible for free shipping. Inspect the collector’s box.

MERCHANDISE
The Vice City Collection is separate. GTA VI is not included.
The announced physical version of the game is code-in-box, not a disc edition. Rockstar also says there is no physical Ultimate Edition; a physical Standard buyer can redeem the code and buy the digital upgrade. Rockstar’s version details.
If your reason for buying a box is to own a disc, pause and check the product description. A photograph of packaging does not settle what is inside it. Look for “download code,” “disc included,” and “game sold separately” before comparing prices.

The U.S. PlayStation listing advertises a month of GTA+ with an eligible preorder. Its terms say the membership renews monthly until canceled after that month. If you redeem it, read the renewal price and cancellation instructions in your account. PlayStation’s offer terms on the product page.
A bonus subscription is a separate decision from which edition you buy. Do not treat a free introductory month as a promise of a permanently free membership, and do not assume another platform uses identical redemption terms.

Is GTA 6 $70, $80 or $100?

Can I preorder it now?

Does Ultimate let me play a week early?
The checked edition descriptions do not list early access. Rockstar describes preload beginning November 12; downloading files before launch does not establish permission to play before November 19. Rockstar’s preload details .
Can I get the whole game for the $20 upgrade price?
No. The upgrade listing says it requires GTA VI, sold separately. If you do not own the game, buying the add-on alone is not the same purchase as Standard or Ultimate. Read the add-on requirement .
Is a future discount guaranteed?
No future discount is established by the sources here. A current list price and a future sale are different claims. If the present total does not suit your budget, you can wait without assuming a particular sale date or discount.
What if a retailer shows $200?
Read the exact product name and included items. A bundle, imported item or reseller listing is not proof that the base game costs $200. Compare its contents with the official edition lists before deciding whether it is the same product.
The useful number is the price of the exact edition you want, on the platform you own, in your account’s region. Keep those three details together, and the headline figures become much easier to judge.
